About muura

「ムーラ」は、大阪に拠点を置く設計事務所で、2015年に開業しました。
主に、飲食店や物販店などの店舗を中心としたデザイン/設計を行っています。
他にも、複合型商業施設や宿泊施設などの建築デザイン、フードホールのプランニング、ライブハウスやアートギャラリーの設計など、さまざまな商空間を手掛けてきました。

空間の計画を進めるためには、数多くの要素を丁寧に見つめ、総合的に検討する必要があります。
それは実務的な設計の検討にとどまらず、周辺環境とのつながり、場の歴史、人々の心理や行動、時間や気候による変化、光や音や匂いや手触りなどの感覚、それらが周囲に与える影響や印象など、さまざまな要素を含みます。また、使用する素材と自然環境との関係性や、持続可能な循環のしくみについての考察も、空間を計画する上で大切な要素です。

私たちは設計を行う上で、こうした多様な要素をデザインの視点で観察し、遊び心をもって新たな価値を生み出す仕掛けを考案します。楽しさや親しみを含んだデザインには、人々の意識を前向きに変え、継続や成長につなげる力があると考えています。

そして、そのデザインをより高い精度で実現するために、私たちはクリエイティブチームを編成し、協働による空間の創造を行っています。各分野の専門家や職人がそれぞれの強みを持ち寄り、アイデアと知識と技術をひとつに結び合わせることで、デザインは初めて形となり、人々の感覚へ訴えかけるものになります。

こうして、私たちは好奇心とチームワークによって新たな価値を形にし、ひとつひとつを楽しさをもって丁寧に組み合わせることで、これまでにない特別で喜びある空間の創造を目指しています。

“muura” is a design studio based in Osaka, Japan, founded in 2015.
The studio primarily focuses on the design of commercial spaces, particularly restaurants and retail stores. Its work also spans a wide range of projects, including the architectural design of mixed-use commercial developments and hospitality facilities, food hall planning, live music venues, and art galleries.
Through these diverse projects, muura explores thoughtful and distinctive approaches to architecture and interior design across a variety of commercial environments.

Designing a space means carefully observing many different elements and considering how they come together as a whole.
It’s not only about practical design matters, but also about how a place connects with its surroundings, its history, people’s psychology and behavior, and how it changes with time and climate.
We also think about sensory qualities — light, sound, scent, and touch — and how these impressions shape the atmosphere and experience of a space.
At the same time, we reflect on how the materials we use interact with the natural environment, and how design can support a more sustainable cycle of making.

In our design process, we look at these diverse elements through the lens of design, creating ideas that spark new value with a sense of playfulness.
We believe that designs filled with a sense of warmth and delight can positively shape how people think, and encourage continuity and growth.

To bring each idea to life, we work as a creative team — designers, specialists, and craftspeople — sharing ideas, knowledge, and skills.
When these come together, design takes shape and begins to touch the senses.

Through curiosity and teamwork, we shape new forms of value — building each space with care and delight, and creating places that feel special and meaningful to those who experience them.
